On May 9, 2019, a Virginia federal jury found that NOVEC’s insurer, Hartford Steam Boiler, breached its insurance obligations to NOVEC by failing to cover NOVEC’s losses when a power plant steam turbine was damaged. Returning its verdict in just over an hour, the jury awarded NOVEC all its requested damages ($770,634) as well as pre-judgment interest. NOVEC is now pursuing its bad faith claim against HSB and seeking attorney fees and costs.
